In the fall of 2007 the Jensen Center invited community residents to participate in the Dream Team for the Jensen Center, our wonderful community center here in Amherst. Participants made suggestions for activities at the Jensen Center and the idea of a chocolate festival was born...
Over 500 people enjoyed the first Festival of Chocolate. We were blessed by a wonderful group of dedicated and flexible volunteers who helped to make the first festival a huge success.

Despite a poor economy and the threat of the swine flu, over 600 people attended the second festival. Zorba Paster, MD, host of National Public Radio's "Zorba Paster on your Health," keynoted the festival. Activities included chocolate samples, fondue bar, coffee and cocoa bar, art/craft/bake fair, chair and Thai massage, mini fitness classes, an artistic chocolate cooking class, chocolate cook off, silent auction, and a host of programs on personal training, skin care, self image, Living in Harmony, and Growing Up Green.
