Registration is from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Judging begins at 11:00 a.m.
Prizes will be announced & awarded at 12:30 p.m.

Cookoff Rules & Classifications

Cookoff Rules

  • ** NEW** Professional division means somebody “who is or has been paid to cook professionally as a trained chef”.
  • ** NEW**There will be no auction of baked goods and no requirement for duplicate entries. Instead, samples of entries will be sold by the piece after winners have been announced.
  • All entries must be finished baked goods in containers that will not be returned
  • All entries must have chocolate as a significant component.
  • All entries should be prepared in a sanitary manner. Entrants may be asked to taste their entry at registration. Refusal to do so will result in disqualification.
  • A typed or neatly written version of the recipe is appreciated.
  • Each judged entry will be allowed a 15” x 18” display area.
  • Presentation will be considered, but elaborate displays do not increase your chance of winning.
  • Judging criteria will include creativity, flavor, quality of product, use of chocolate, and appearance. Healthy remake category entrants will also be judged on creative use of healthful substitutions.
  • All judging will be done blindly with entrants assigned numbers.
  • Entry in cookoff includes one free admission to chocolate festival.

Ribbons will also be awarded to all three placings in each category
