The Chocolate Committee

Greetings, I'm Shelly Platten, a member of the chocolate festival committee as well as coordinator of the festival cookoff. My day job is baking and cooking at a local restaurant and occasionally competing in state and national recipe contests. When I am not cooking with or eating chocolate, I am a mother of two teens, an artist, a community volunteer, gardener, dabbling in theatre and training for two 5K runs...a great way to burn off those desserts!

Welcome! I'm Linda Chapin, chairman of the chocolate festival. In my professional life I practice dentistry and have been involved in wellness for over 20 years. My volunterr activities surround being an active board member of the Jensen Center. Fortunately, I have a wonderful husband and daughter who indulge my love for chocolate, perennial flower gardening, and berries. I enjoy hiking, biking, gardening, exploring our National Parks and of course, tasting chocolate.

Hi, I am Susan Cunningham, a member of the chocolate festival committee. I work full time at Lands End and also do alterations out of my home in Stevens Point. I am a former BOD member of the Jensen Center, which is how I became involved with the Choc Festival. I also love to garden; flowers, as well as veggies. I love to ride my bike, walk, swim, read, travel and of course eat chocolate!

Hello, fellow Comrades pursuing the Sweet Life. I am Vickie Vaughn, wife, mother, teacher, and active volunteer in our Amherst community. I love a good book, gardening, listening and dancing to music, cooking and eating - especially Mexican food. My family and I love to camp, travel, and be with friends and our extended family.

Hello, I'm Lisa Stephani, also a member of the chocolate festival committee. I've lived in the Village of Amherst for the past 23 years with my husband, Jim, and our two sons who attend state universities. Professionally I work full time in the medical field as a Medical Assistant. I enjoy gardening, hiking and spending time with my family.

Hello! I am Louise Pease, originally from California, now happily living in the country south of Amherst, married to that famous children's performer, Tom Pease, mother to two twentysomethings, Morgan and Broegy. I am a reading teacher in Wisconsin Rapids, and enjoy swimming, gardening, hiking, skiing, reading, dancing, and helping organize events like this Festival of Chocolate!

Howdy, my name is Sarah Peterson and I've been a proud chocoholic my whole life. To be a volunteer on a committee planning a chocolate festival is a no-brainer for me and this year? event is shaping up to be the best yet! Other things I hold dear are spending time with my family, camping (tents rule!), gardening, reading, cooking new recipes, strolling any beach on Lake Superior and of course, savoring the unique taste of chocolate!
